which refers to an Asian legend of a rabbit on the moon pounding the mochi (a rice cake).

The "Sea of Serenity" on the moon was the location of the moon palace.
In Mythology there is a Moon goddess, Selene, who fell in love with the sheperd,
Endymion. In Japanese Selene and Serene are pronounced the same.

Sailor Venus was known as Sailor V before she joined with the other Senshi.
As Sailor V she fought against crime.
Aino Minako moved to Japan and became the fifth Inner Senshi, Sailor Venus.

Rei is passionate and strong with a temper.
Rei dislikes weaknesses in people.
She considers Usagi her best friend even though she is often impatient with her.
Rei is a Shinto Priestess and she lives in a temple called the
Hikawa Jinja Shrine, with her grandfather.
Sailor Mars' is one of most powerful of the Inner Senshi.
Her element is fire and her attacks are:
Fire Soul, Fire Soul Bird, Burning Mandala and Mars Fire Sniper.

Kino Makoto means "Faithfulness of Trees,"
Makoto is the strongest and tallest of the Inner Senshi.
She likes to cook and clean because it makes her feel more feminine.
Her parents died in an airplane crash so she lives alone in an apartment.
Makoto is very protective of her friends whom she considers her family
and she loves when they visit and she can serve them tea and cook for them.
Sailor Pluto was the fourth senshi found by Luna.
Her element is thunder and lightening and her attacks are:
Supreme Thunder, Supreme Thunder Dragon, Sparkling Wide Pressure and Jupiter Oak Evolution.

Mizuno Ami means "Friend of Water."
Ami is extremely intelligent but also sweet and shy.
She spends a lot of time alone, studying but she is a trustworthy friend.
As Sailor Mercury she has a visor that gives her super vision and a
Super Mini Computer from Luna that analyzes situations.
Sailor Mercury's attacks are:
Shabon Spray, Shabon Spray Freezing, Shining Aqua Illusion, Mercury Aqua Rhapsody and Mercury Aqua Mirage.

Originally Prince Endymion of Earth during the reign of the Silver Millenium.
The name is from Greek mythology of the moon goddess Selene
falling in love with Endymion.
His name in Japanese uses the kanji for "Earth."
The word "kamen" means "protector" in Japanese.

Chibi Usa is a nickname. It means "Little Rabbit."
Chibi is Japanese for "short.". Her real name is Usagi.
As a princess in Crystal Tokyo, Sailor Pluto and her parents call her Small Lady. She calls Sailor Pluto, "Puu."
Sailor Chibi Moon's powers and attacks are:
Luna P Henge, Pink Sugar Heart Attack, Twinkle Yell and Moon Georgeous Meditation.

Meiou Setsuna means "Underworld King."
Sailor Pluto is responsible for guarding the Gates of Time,
a task given to her by Queen Serenity. She rarely leaves her post except to help the Senshi.
Setsuna is mysterious and serious. She keeps to herself but she
enjoys the company of Small Lady/Chibi Usa who calls her "Puu."
Setsuna was first heard as the voice in Chibi Usa's Luna P Ball.
She was helping Chibi Usa get the Imperium Silver Crystal and when
it was found Setsuna was freed from the Luna P Ball.
She possesses The Garnet Orb, one of the three Talisman, which is on top of
her Time Staff. She used it to separate the pure hearts and Talismans of
Sailors Neptune and Uranus.
When the three are combined they form the Holy Grail,
which transforms Sailor Moon into Super Sailor Moon.
Her attacks are: Dead Scream and Dark Dome Close.
The Dark Dome Close is forbidden because it has the power to stop time.

Ten'ou Haruka means "Sky King."
Haruka appears very masculine with her short hair, husky voice and strength.
She is also the tallest of all the Senshi.
Sailor Uranus has the third talisman, the Sacred Sword.
Sailor Uranus and Sailor Neptune have the task of finding the three talismans
which are in the pure hearts of three individuals.
Her attacks are: World Shaking and Space Sword Blaster.

Kaiou Michiru means "Ocean King."
Michiru is a talented violinist and artist.
Michiru is very close to Haruka and although they are friends with
the Inner Senshi, they tend to keep to themselves because they have a different mission.
As Sailor Neptune she uses the sea for her attacks.
She has one of the three talisman, the Aqua Mirror.
Sailor Neptune's attacks are: Submarine Reflection and Deep Submerge.

Hotaru's name means "Firefly."
Hotaru's father is Professor Tomoe, a scientist. He was the only
survivor when one of his experiments blew up.
To save Hotaru, Professor Tomoe agreed to serve Pharaoh 90 and create
Daemon eggs to collect pure heart crystals.
Pharaoh 90 wanted the three Talisman located in pure hearts.
As a result Hotaru lived but her body was possessed by
a Tau Cet entity and she became Mistress 9.
Mistress 9 helped Pharaoh 90 but eventually her true self as Sailor Saturn
emerged and she and Super Sailor Moon destroyed him.
Hotura was transformed into an infant again and Michiru and Haruka looked after her.
She grew up very quickly.
Hotaru is physically weak and sickly but she has a power to heal
which frightens other children.
She had no friends until she was befriended by Chibi Usa.
As Sailor Saturn she is extremely powerful because she has the ability to destroy the entire universe with three words.
Sailor Saturn does not have a Talisman but she has her Silence Glaive which she uses for her attacks.
Her attacks are:
Death Reborn Revolution, Silence Wall and Silence Glaive Surprise.

In the anime she is the light of hope from Galaxia's star seed.

The Starlights are Senshi from another planet.
They are guardians of the Kinmoku star system who came to Earth in search of their princess.
They fear that Galaxia may have already destroyed her.
The Starlights hide themselves as an idol singing group known as
"The Three Lights."

Sailor Star Fighter's civilian identity is Seiya Kou, one of a popular singing group called "The Three Lights."
Seiya Kou is the lead vocal and most popular of the group.
Star Fighter is from the planet Kinmoku, a warrior and protector of Princess Kakyuu.
Star Fighter's powers and attacks are: Fighter Star Power Make-Up, and Star Serious Laser.

Responsibilities in the singing group are back-up vocal and bass guitar.
The most intelligent and calm member of the Three Lights.
Sailor Star Maker is also a warrior and protector of Princess Kakyuu.
Star Maker's powers and attacks are: Maker Star Power Make-Up! and
Star Gentle Uterus.

Yaten Kou is back-up vocal and plays electric guitar.
Yaten Kou is the second most popular member of the Three Lights
